Motorsport Stripes

Custom racing stripes, bonnet stripes and side accents designed around your car, with vinyl production and professional fitting at our Norwich graphics centre.

Designed for your car

Racing stripes with the right width, spacing and finish.

A well-proportioned stripe changes the character of a car without covering every panel. Race Car Graphics designs motorsport stripes for performance road cars, track-day cars and competition vehicles, from a single bonnet accent to a coordinated bonnet, roof and rear-deck layout.

The design starts with your exact model and bodywork. We consider bonnet contours, vents, roof shape and existing paint colour before setting the stripe width, spacing and stopping points. You can bring a reference or ask our Norwich team to develop a direction that suits the car.

Complete graphics care packages

Prepare before fitting. Protect after application.

Either package can be added to a car, van, fleet or race vehicle graphics project. Tell us what is being fitted and we will coordinate the care appointment with production and installation.

Vehicle receiving a thorough pre-graphics wash and surface preparation
Before application

Pre-graphics valet & preparation

From £80

Give the vinyl the cleanest possible foundation. A professional decontamination wash removes traffic film, wax, grease and bonded residue that can compromise inspection, positioning and edge adhesion.

  • Cleaner surface for vinyl adhesion
  • Earlier identification of tar, fallout and paint defects
  • Less fitting time lost to avoidable contamination

Final preparation depends on paint condition and the selected graphics. Paint repair, glue removal and heavy contamination may be quoted separately.

Post-graphics ceramic protection

From £250

Add a compatible ceramic coating after the graphics or wrap has settled. It can deepen gloss, make routine washing easier and reduce the way road film and environmental contamination cling to the finished surface.

  • Easier maintenance of vinyl and surrounding paint
  • Added gloss and contamination resistance
  • A protection plan matched to the vinyl finish

Ceramic coating does not make graphics damage-proof. We confirm vinyl compatibility, finish and curing time before recommending the coating system.

Layouts and coverage

Choose your motorsport stripe layout.

01

Bonnet and roof stripes

Single, twin or offset stripes that follow the centreline or a deliberate asymmetric layout. Width and spacing are checked across each panel before production.

02

Side and sill stripes

Long, low accents that follow the doors and rear quarters. Choose a restrained sill detail or a stronger side stripe that connects the front and rear of the car.

03

Pinstripes and keylines

Fine contrasting lines add definition around a broader stripe. We agree the colour relationship and practical line width so the details remain clear on the vehicle.

04

Track-inspired accents

Coordinate bonnet corners, wing details or selected panel accents with the main stripe. Race numbers and sponsor graphics can be planned separately when required.

Artwork, material and finish

Designed around the car, from bonnet to rear panel.

A stripe that looks straight on a flat drawing can appear different across curved bodywork. The layout needs to account for panel shape, gaps, vents and changes in viewing angle. We review those transitions as part of the artwork and fitting plan.

Solid-colour cut vinyl suits clean stripes and contrasting keylines; printed graphics can be considered when a design needs gradients or more complex colour. Gloss, matt and satin options depend on the selected film. Physical samples help confirm colour and finish before approval.

Tell us about repainted panels, existing coatings or older graphics at the enquiry stage. The surface and proposed layout are checked before installation. After fitting, follow the care guidance supplied for the chosen material and keep washing pressure away from exposed edges.

Before you book

Motorsport Stripes FAQs.

Can you make racing stripes for my exact car model?+

Yes. Supply the make, model, year and clear photographs, including any modified bodywork. The layout is developed around those details, with measurements confirmed before production.

Can I choose the width and spacing of my motorsport stripes?+

Yes. Single, twin and offset layouts can be adjusted to suit the bonnet, roof or side panels. We review proportions and practical fitting details before you approve the design.

Do you fit bonnet and roof stripes in Norwich?+

Professional fitting is available by appointment at our Norwich graphics centre. The vehicle, surface condition and agreed coverage determine the fitting time, which is confirmed with your quotation.

Can motorsport stripes be supplied for self-application?+

A supply-only kit can be discussed. Suitability depends on the size, number of panels and surface shape; complex or connected layouts benefit from professional fitting.

How much do custom racing stripes cost?+

Pricing depends on design work, stripe dimensions, material, panel coverage and whether fitting or removal of existing graphics is required. Send your vehicle details and preferred layout for a written quotation.

Are racing stripes the same as a race car livery?+

Stripes are a focused styling treatment. A full race car livery also plans team identity, sponsor placement and competition identification across the vehicle. We can connect your stripe design with those specialist services if needed.
