Trim Dechroming.

Dechroming, is a process of covering a vehicle's chrome trim with a liquid wrap. This is a popular customisation option for car enthusiasts who want to achieve a more modern or sleek look.

So what does it involve?

Purpose:

Achieve a modern or sleek aesthetic by replacing the shiny chrome with a different finish, typically matte black but also including gloss black, carbon fiber, or other colors.

Protect the original chrome from scratches, fingerprints, or sun damage.

Process:

We use specialist liquid spray designed for car exteriors. These wraps are typically made to be durable, weatherproof, and easy to apply.

The Badge and trims can be removed or sprayed in situ, this is dependant on the vehicle. The badges and trims and carefully masked so no overspray is left on other areas of the vehicle.

Here are some additional things to consider:

Benefits: In addition to the aesthetic improvements, dechroming can also offer some practical benefits like protecting the chrome and potentially reducing heat absorption on certain exterior parts during hot weather.

DIY vs. Professional: While DIY kits are available, it's generally recommended to leave it to experienced professionals to ensure a flawless and long-lasting finish.

Cost: The cost of dechroming varies depending on the size and complexity of the job, but it's typically less expensive than repainting the chrome parts.

Useful information, setup videos and assistance

A spray or liquid wrap is a removable coating applied to your vehicle’s paintwork. It gives a new colour or finish while protecting the original paint underneath.

With the right care, a spray wrap can last for many years. Its lifespan depends on factors like weather exposure, washing habits, overall maintenance and the type of wrap used. A lacquer finish adds gloss finish protecting the liquid wrap, while extending the life further.

Yes — one of the main benefits is that it’s fully peelable. When you’re ready for a change, it can be removed without damaging your car’s original paint.

Spray wraps come in a wide range of options, including gloss, matte, satin, metallic, and even custom colours or effects like pearls and flakes. Speak to us to discuss you specific needs.
